Beaver Road Primary School’s brief focused on upgrading existing school washrooms to improve hygiene, durability and visual appeal. Their key priorities were:
The school washroom refurbishment also needed to take into account supervision and safeguarding needs, particularly within the early year’s facilities, to make sure everything met DfE design standards for education washrooms.
The Splash Privacy Toilet Cubicles were selected for the staff washrooms to offer maximum privacy with its 5mm floor clearance. Constructed from 13mm Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) which is robust, water-resistant and impact-resistant , perfect for high-quality performance in a high-traffic environment. The striking Midnight Sky and warm Summer Oak finishes provides a modern and calming appearance – perfectly suited for a teacher’s washroom.
The Tiny Tots range in SGL was the perfect choice for the younger years’ washrooms at Beaver Road Primary School. At TBS Amwell, we believe the smallest people deserve our biggest attention. The Tiny Tots toilet cubicles are designed to meet the Department for Education regulations, with features like anti-finger trap hinges, rounded edges and low cubicle door heights for easy supervision. This means children can use the school washrooms safely and independently, while staff can keep a watchful eye. It goes without saying that safety and security is not just a must, it is a standard.
The PDQ Panel & Frame system was supplied to conceal the pipework and services, ensuring a clean, professional finish while allowing easy access for maintenance with its lockable, hinged access panel. Made from the high-quality 13mm SGL, the panels are proven to be durable, waterproof and easy to clean – critical for the long-term performance of Education Washrooms.
For the staff toilets, panels were finished in Summer Oak, creating a refined, professional appearance. Whilst the pupils’ washrooms feature Summer Oak and Pistachio, providing a bright, age-appropriate environment. This coordinated approach ensures a visual consistency throughout the school and differentiating staff and pupil zones.
The Education Washtrough in Avalanche in were placed in the school corridors to deliver a hygienic, space-efficient handwashing solution. Manufactured from a seamless, non-porous solid surface material, it is easy to clean, highly durable, and resistant to staining and water damage – perfect for the education environment.
Its slim profile makes it easy for younger children to reach the taps without needing steps. The washtroughs accommodate multiple users simultaneously without compromising space – ideal for busy Education Washrooms. As per DfE guidance, wall-hung installation on Powder Coated Cantilever Brackets makes cleaning the floor underneath simple. The washtrough can be installed at any height, whether it is for nursery, primary, junior or adult height it can be tailored to suit the users’ needs.
The Beaver Road Primary School washroom refurbishment demonstrated how well-specified products can transform the functionality and appearance of a high-traffic educational environment.
