Client’s brief – Full College Washroom Refurbishment

The college washroom, located within the Motor Engineering Block, required robust, compliant and high-quality facilities suitable for intensive daily use by students and staff.

Key priorities include:

• Long-term durability and low maintenance washroom products
• Materials suitable for high-traffic education washrooms for students and staff
• Full-height privacy cubicles to support mixed-sex washroom provision

Our Education Washroom Product Package

To meet these requirements, TBS Amwell manufactured and supplied washroom products using Solid Grade Laminate (SGL), a material suited to education washrooms due to its strength, water resistance and longevity.

Carefully selected finishes were used to create a modern, welcoming environment, while full-height privacy cubicle layouts supported inclusivity and compliance within mixed-use washrooms. The result is a cohesive, practical and future-proof solution tailored to the demands of a busy educational environment.

Urban SGL Privacy Toilet Cubicles – Woodland Doors with Oyster Pilasters & Partitions

The Urban toilet cubicles were supplied with full-height doors and a 10mm floor clearance, providing enhanced privacy. The Solid Grade Laminate construction allows for a rigorous cleaning regime, which is essential in a busy college washroom. The fixtures and fittings were manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel and satin anodised aluminium, ensuring durability in a demanding environment. Finally, the neutral Woodland and Oyster colour palette delivered a calm, modern appearance that complemented the overall design.

SGL PDQ Panel & Frame – Woodland Finish

The SGL PDQ Panel & Frame system, arrives with IPS panels pre-fitted to durable steel frames, streamlining onsite installation and reducing assembly time by 50% compared to traditional timber frames. Installation was carried out by TBS Fabrications, experts in fitting TBS Amwell products, which made the process even more efficient and ensured a flawless result. Integrated hinged access panels allowed for easy maintenance of services, while the material selection ensured excellent impact and moisture resistance.

SGL PDQ Vanity Units – Woodland and Oyster

Coordinated SGL vanity units provided smooth, non-porous surfaces resistant to water and daily wear, supporting hygiene and reducing ongoing maintenance efforts. Together, these elements created a cohesive, practical, and future-proof washroom solution tailored to the college’s needs.
