Over the Rainbow Nursery required a school washroom refurbishment that would cater specifically to the needs of young children. Their key priorities were functionality, safety, and aesthetics. The nursery wanted a modern, easy-to-clean solution that would support staff in maintaining hygiene and safety standards while providing a bright and welcoming space for children.

The nursery school refurbishment also had a strict deadline: the new washroom needed to be fully operational for early September.

Our Washroom Products for Nurseries

Tiny Tots Nursery Toilet Cubicles

For the nursery toilet cubicles, we supplied our Tiny Tots range, specifically designed for young learners. The range features reduced heights and secure, tamper-resistant fittings to ensure both safety and privacy. Manufactured in 18mm High Pressure Laminate (HPL), the cubicles provide a durable and hygienic solution for the heavy daily use the nursery toilet cubicles will receive. The toilet doors are finished in White Hessian Laminate and partitions in a Stone laminate finish.

The Tiny Tots range is designed with low-level doors and pilasters which allows easy supervision by nursery staff, while anti-finger-trap hinges and emergency release locks provide a safe environment for small hands. Floor fixed pilasters and concealed fixings make the cubicles robust yet child-friendly, delivering a solution that balances independence for children with peace of mind for caregivers.

IPS Wall Panels

To complement the toilet cubicles, we supplied PDQ Panel & Frame IPS wall panels in White Hessian HPL to conceal services, with panels arriving pre-assembled on galvanised metal frames. This innovative system significantly reduced installation time – up to 50% faster than traditional timber frameworks – which was particularly beneficial to this project on a tight schedule. The pre-assembled IPS panels ensure a strong, smooth and clean finish to the children’s washroom that is easy to maintain and durable, providing a safe and hygienic nursery washroom environment.

PDQ System

To finalise the nursery washroom refurbishment, TBS Amwell supplied a PDQ Vanity Underframe equipped with access panels, finished in complementary Stone and White Hessian HPL laminate, specifically designed to accommodate a Solid Surface Washtrough.

The PDQ Vanity Underframe was delivered to the site as a pre-assembled unit featuring a galvanised metal support frame, significantly cutting down installation time in comparison to conventional site-built systems. This allowed for the quick placement and securing of the vanity underframe with only minor adjustments needed on-site, ensuring that the nursery washroom was operational within the project’s schedule.
