Tameside Wellness Centre Washroom & Changing Room Installation

As part of this major development, TBS Amwell worked closely with main contractor Willmott Dixon to deliver a complete commercial toilet refurbishment and changing area package. Our scope included commercial toilet cubicles, vanity units, IPS systems, lockers and bench seating, creating fully integrated washroom solutions for a high-traffic leisure facility.

Client’s Brief – Durable Commercial Washrooms for a High-Traffic Leisure Centre

The new wellness centre required robust, modern and easy to maintain commercial washrooms and changing facilities capable of supporting high daily visitor numbers.

The brief called for privacy-led changing room cubicles, durable commercial lockers, practical bench seating and coordinated vanity areas that reflected the premium standard of the building. Products also needed to withstand wet leisure environments, offer efficient installation and meet relevant accessibility requirements such as Approved Document M and wider accessible toilet dimensions standards where applicable.

The overall objective was to create welcoming, organised and long-lasting washrooms that enhanced the visitor experience while minimising long-term maintenance.

Commercial Toilet Cubicles and Change Room Cubicles

For the main changing room areas, our Splash Tall cubicle system was selected to provide enhanced privacy. Featuring full-height doors, minimal ceiling clearance and only a 100mm floor gap, Splash Tall creates secure and comfortable changing room cubicles ideal for leisure environments such as gym changing rooms, sports facility changing rooms and changing rooms for swimming pools.

In other washroom areas across the centre, standard height Splash cubicles were installed. Manufactured from Solid Grade Laminate, these washroom cubicles are highly durable, water resistant and suitable for busy commercial bathrooms. The system is also quick to install, with sleek U-Channel fixing methods reducing installation time.

Commercial Aquasafe lockers

Our Aquasafe Lockers were installed throughout the facility to support secure storage in wet and dry zones. Available in numerous sizes and configurations, these commercial lockers are water resistant, highly durable and delivered pre-assembled for fast installation.

The locker provision supports efficient gym locker room layout planning, helping visitors move easily through the leisure centre. These solutions are equally suitable for staff lockers, changing lockers and wider locker rooms.

Changing Room Aquasafe Benching

To complement the lockers, Aquabench seating was selected throughout the changing areas. These robust systems provide practical changing room benches for busy leisure centres, swimming pools and fitness facilities.

Aquabench is ideal for locker room benches, changing room benching and durable seating within mens changing rooms.

PDQ Panel & Frame IPS Panels & Vanity Units

TBS Amwell also supplied PDQ Panel & Frame IPS Ducting and PDQ Vanity & Frame units to the leisure washrooms across the facility, including hairdryer vanities in the changing rooms.

Our pre-assembled IPS panels provide a clean, professional finish while concealing pipework and services. These systems are widely specified as commercial toilet wall panels or IPS duct panels in public facilities.

For the vanity areas, robust commercial vanity units were installed to provide practical and stylish handwashing zones.

The completed installation delivered premium commercial washrooms and changing facilities aligned with the high standard of the Tameside Wellness Centre.

Visitors now benefit from private, durable and attractive changing room cubicles, organised locker areas and practical seating designed for comfort and convenience. Coordinated branding colours were used throughout the locker and changing spaces, helping create intuitive zoning and easier navigation across the building.

The use of water-resistant cubicles, robust lockers and pre-assembled IPS systems ensures the leisure centre benefits from long-term reliability in a demanding wet leisure environment.
