As part of this major school washroom refurbishment, TBS Amwell was appointed to deliver high-performance education washroom solutions designed for a modern, open-plan learning environment. The focus was on creating safe, durable and highly private school washrooms suitable for daily use by large numbers of students.

Client’s Brief – High-Privacy School Washrooms for an Open-Plan Design

The school required a new generation of school toilet cubicles that could provide maximum privacy while working within an open-plan washroom layout.

Key requirements included enhanced student privacy, robust construction suitable for heavy daily use, and compliance with Department for Education regulations. The facilities also needed to feel safe, comfortable and appropriate for a large, contemporary secondary school environment.

To meet the brief, we supplied our Splash Privacy cubicle system with overpanelling.

Splash privacy is specially designed for environments where enhanced discretion is required, making it ideal for modern school washrooms and open-plan layouts.

• Narrow 5mm door and pilaster gaps for optimal coverage
• Privacy strips to prevent visibility through partitions
• Overpanel detailing to enhance seclusion in open-plan children’s washrooms

The system also includes a slide-operated indicator bolt with emergency release functionality, supporting safety requirements across all DfE complaints school environments.

PDQ Panel & Frame IPS Panels

To complement the cubicles, we installed our PDQ Panel & Frame IPS system.

Manufactured in Solid Grade Laminate, this system provides a durable and coordinated finish throughout the school bathroom areas while concealing services neatly.

Key benefits included:

• Rapid installation due to pre-assembled metal frame construction
• Panels delivered labelled and pre-hung for easy site distribution
• Lockable top panels for added security
• Matching laminate finishes to coordinate with cubicles
