How Many Toilets Are Required in a Shopping Centre?

Retail spaces exceeding 1,000m² must provide facilities for customers. Below are the requirements:

Male Toilets: One toilet and two urinals per 500 male customers, with an additional toilet for every 1,000 customers and an extra urinal for every 500.

Female Toilets: One toilet per 500 female customers, with an additional toilet for every 200.

Washbasins

One washbasin per male toilet plus one for every five urinals.

One washbasin per female toilet plus one for every two extra toilets.

How Many Toilets Are Needed for Schools or Educational Facilities?

The regulations do not set the minimum number of fittings to be provided in relation to the ages and numbers of pupils. Generally the needs of younger pupils are likely to be greater than those for older ones.
